Trouble Importing XviD in Avid Media Composer- Solution

I've been sent some material from a lipstick camera which has been recorded as an Xvid AVI file. Does anyone know if it's possible to import the XviD into Media Composer? Or can it be converted into a file which the AVID can then take in?
